Q. What can I book with Mystery Trips?

A. You have three different booking options: 1. Mystery Flight – this is a flight only to a range of select destinations, for a day trip. 2. Mystery Stay – this is accommodation only in a city you nominate from the selection list. The hotel and the exact location are the mystery! You can select from 1, 2 and 3 night options, and you can also select 3, 4 and 5 star accommodation options. 3. Mystery Package – this includes flights and accommodation, and you can select from 1, 2 and 3 night options. You can also select 3, 4 and 5 star accommodation options.
 

 

Q. Can I book Mystery Trips in advance or last-minute?

A. Mystery Trips bookings can be made up to 12 months in advance and a minimum of 10 business days in advance of departure date.

 

Q. When will I find out where I am actually going?

A. You will receive an email 2-3 business days prior to departure with your itinerary.

 

Q. What are possible destinations?

A. Mystery Trips offers flights from major cities on the Eastern Seaboard (i.e. Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane) to the following destinations: Brisbane, Canberra^, Coffs Harbour^, Cairns, Darwin, Hamilton Island, Hobart, Launceston^, Melbourne, Maroochydore / Gold Coast, Sydney, Townsville^. Note: For Mystery Stays only Perth is also available. ^5 star Mystery Stays and Packages are not available in these locations. 

 

Q. How can I pay for my Mystery Trip?

A. You can pay for your Mystery Trips by Visa, Mastercard or Amex, an additional 2% credit card service fee applies upon payment. Alternatively you can pay by direct deposit, please ask your travel consultant for details.

 

Q. Can I exclude destinations I don't want to visit?

A. Yes, you are able to select one destination you don't want to visit.

 

Q. How long will I stay at the destination if I select Mystery Flight?

A. Mystery Trips will guarantee at least 5 hours at your destination for a day trip.

 

Q. When can I travel?

A. Most of the year is available for travel except Christmas and Easter periods. In addition availability maybe limited at other times of the year including public holidays and school holidays. Dates where travel is not available, 29th March 2013 - 2nd April 2013, 24-25 April 2013, 8-11 June 2013, 5-8 October 2013, 21 December - 15 January 2014 inclusive. (This list is not exhaustive).

 

Q. Are airport transfers included in price?

A. No, airport transfers are not included.

 

Q. What if I change my mind?

A. Mystery Trips bookings cannot be changed, cancelled or refunded at any time.

 

Q. How long is a Mystery Trips gift voucher valid for?

A. Mystery Trips gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from date of purchase. Travel must be completed before the voucher expires.

 

Q. What airline will I be flying with?

A. You will fly with Virgin Australia, Pacific Blue, Jetstar, Regional Express (REX) or Qantas.

 

Q. What time will my flight depart/return?

A. Flights may leave as early as 5am and leave your destination as late as 10pm. On a Mystery Flight, you are guaranteed at least 5 hours in your destination.

 

Q. Can I earn Frequent Flyer points?

A. Not all fares accrue Frequent Flyer points.When you make your booking, please inform the travel consultant of your frequent flyer number and your points will be credited by the airline if you are traveling on an eligible fare.

 

Q. Can I travel with baggage?

A. Mystery Flights and Mystery Stays do not include a checked baggage allowance, however an adult Mystery Package includes a 20kg checked baggage allowance. Child/infant fares do not include luggage. Should you have any other baggage requirements, please contact the airline to discuss your requirements. Any additional fees will be payable direct to the airline.

 

Q. What happens if my flight is cancelled or delayed?

A. Once you have received your itinerary, the airline will contact you directly if there is a schedule change or cancellation. Please liaise with the airline to arrange alternative arrangements for your flight(s).

 

Q. Can I take the family on a Mystery Trip?

A. Yes, to most destinations however room configurations of some hotels prevents some destinations from being available. Each Mystery Trip product has an applicable per child rate, please call 1300 006 759 for more details. Mystery Trips will not charge any additional cost for infants, however some costs may apply with some airlines and hotels and will be payable directly.

 

Q. What is the single supplement?

A. Once you have decided which product you would like a single supplement quote for please call us on 1300 006 759 and our friendly Mystery Trip consultant will be able to advise you.

 

Q. What happens if I cannot travel on the day of departure?

A. Mystery Trips bookings cannot be changed cancelled or refunded at any time. We highly recommend that you purchase travel insurance for coverage in the event of accident, illness or emergency.

 

Q.What time do I check in and check out of my hotel?

A. The standard check in time at a hotel is 2pm. Most hotels require that you are checked out by 10am. Once your Hotel has been revealed you can call the hotel directly if you need to confirm exact times.

 

Q. Are meals and beverages included in a Mystery Stay and Mystery Package?

A. All hotels are booked on a room only basis. Please contact the airline for further information about their standard services.

 

Q. Can I extend my Mystery Stay?

A. Once you have arrived at the hotel, it is possible to extend your stay, subject to availability. Additional nights cannot be purchased at the Mystery Stay price; these are purchased and booked direct with the hotel at rack price.

 

Q. I am an agent and a client would like to buy one of your Mystery Trip products through us?

A. We regret that Mystery Trip products are non commissionable to all agents, but we are happy for you to sell this product to your clients.

 

Q. Can I extend my Mystery Package?

A. Unfortunately a Mystery Package cannot be extended as flights are non transferable.
